I originally started this picture a long time ago, but never got round to finishing it - mainly because the "after" Hiei gave me nightmares for two nights in a row... Seriously, why does he look more terrifying after than before?!
The "after" Hiei started out logical: he's thin because he never trained (I can't draw thin men... What does that say about me?!) he's paler because he lived in the ice village and he doesn't have the third eye because he never needed it. I don't really know why I changed his hair - I had this idea that he was like Suikotsu from Inuyasha - when he turns nice, his hair goes flat. The result is that he looks but like Android 17 (who is also voiced by Chuck Huber - which isn't really relevant).
Now to the point: this picture was supposed to be Botan in that brief moment in my fanfic where she actually thinks about what she's about to do, and the two Hieis are supposed to represent how he will be if she does or doesn't go back in time. The "before" Hiei is based on how Hiei looked and acted when Botan first met him, and the "after" is supposed to be how she thinks he will look and act when she meets him after her little excursion back in time to screw with history (this is also why neither Hiei has the dragon on his arm).
This picture is not perfect, but I'm too scared of "after" Hiei to work on it any more, and I wanted to post it anyway just to share how scary Hiei would look if he had been made bishie...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
